If the City’s Sanitation and Recycling Division observes a holiday, and your regular collection day falls on that holiday, you will receive collection the next day. The remainder of the collection week will be a day later during that holiday week. This collection delay effects trash, recycling and yard waste collections.

Acceptable Items for Bulk Pickup
- Lumber – Must be bundled and tied under 4 ft. in length.
- Furniture – Couches, tables, appliances, etc.
- Carpets – Cut to 4 ft. lengths or less, rolled and tied.
Unacceptable Items for Bulk Pickup
- Contractor’s debris- Sheetrock, plaster, roof shingles, insulation, etc.
- Hazardous materials
- Miscellaneous – Loose lumber, animal waste, ashes, sand, stone, cement, dirt, asbestos, oil, car batteries, gasoline, ammunition, etc.
- Loose hypodermic needles
- Computers, monitors, keyboards, printers
- Furnaces, pianos, car and boat parts.
- Box springs and mattresses
- Rigid plastics – Toys

If you have large items that the city won’t take from you, you may need to hire a junk removal service.
Junk removal services are not be as picky about the items they’re collecting so if the city won’t take the item, this may be your best bet. There’s usually a fee involved with junk removal but most companies can tell you ahead of time approximately what it’s going to cost.
