- Monday holiday: all normal refuse collection delayed one day that entire week.
- Tuesday holiday: normal refuse collection will occur for Monday but the remainder of the week will be delayed one day.
- Wednesday holiday: normal refuse collection will occur for Monday and Tuesday but the remainder of the week will be delayed one day.
- Thursday holiday: normal refuse collection will occur for Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, but Thursday’s collection will be picked up on Friday (except for Thanksgiving when Thursday will be collected on the Wednesday prior to Thanksgiving Thursday).
- Friday holiday: no effect on the refuse collection schedule.

Acceptable Items for Bulk Pickup
- Each address can receive 2 scheduled collections with no fee for up to 5 large items per visit per calendar year
- Note: please continue reading for information regarding mattresses/box springs, refrigerants, and prohibited items

- Collection will typically be performed on a Monday or Friday
- To ensure collection, large items must be placed curbside by 7 am on the scheduled collection day
This is not an unlimited refuse collection!
Carpet Note
Carpeting and padding must be cut up and rolled into bundles not to exceed 4 feet in length or 18 inches in diameter. Bundles must be tied with rope or cord heavy enough to support the weight of the bundle.
More Than 5 Items
What if I have more than 5 items? The following fees apply (must be pre-paid):
- $25 for first item
- $15 per item thereafter

Special pickup of mattresses can be made upon request (fees apply) by calling the Public Works office at 419-354-6227.

Have bulky items the city won’t pick up? You need a junk removal service.
If you have large items that the city won’t take from you, you may need to hire a junk removal service.
Junk removal services are not be as picky about the items they’re collecting so if the city won’t take the item, this may be your best bet. There’s usually a fee involved with junk removal but most companies can tell you ahead of time approximately what it’s going to cost.
