Acceptable Items for Bulk Pickup

  • Stoves, refrigerators*, water tanks/heaters and washing machines (drained of all water), furniture, and other similar items and materials that is NOT construction debris, dead animals, hazardous waste or stable matter.)

Unacceptable Items for Bulk Pickup

  • *Refrigerated appliances (air conditioners, vending machines, etc.) cannot be accepted unless refrigerant and/or compressor is removed and tagged prior to collection. Call Public Works to notify that it has been professionally tagged.  
  • Building & construction material (includes lumber, pallets, & fencing)
  • Glass doors or table tops
  • Motors or grills with fuel tanks still installed
  • Mattresses or furniture with living pests (bed bugs) or carpet not properly prepared
  • Large or heavy items (basketball goals, trampolines, sectional sofas) that have not been broken down into components,
  • Manure, hazardous waste, automotive/vehicle parts (includes tires) or wet paint.

Have bulky items the city won’t pick up? You need a junk removal service.

If you have large items that the city won’t take from you, you may need to hire a junk removal service.

Junk removal services are not be as picky about the items they’re collecting so if the city won’t take the item, this may be your best bet. There’s usually a fee involved with junk removal but most companies can tell you ahead of time approximately what it’s going to cost.
