Residents whose collection day falls on a City holiday will receive trash pickup on Wednesday of the same week. The schedule for each holiday is posted in the City’s online Newsroom in advance.
On City holidays, Central Business District customers should hold trash until the next regular collection day.

Acceptable Items for Bulk Pickup
- Yard waste, including brush and limbs
- Old appliances, including refrigerators, lawn mowers, microwaves, etc.
- Furniture, including mattresses, sofas, dressers, etc.
- Electronics (please note that these items will be taken to the landfill, not recycled)
*The City does not pick up furniture, appliances and other heavy trash items on a regular basis; however, it does provide Heavy Trash Collection annually in the spring.

Have bulky items the city won’t pick up? You need a junk removal service.
If you have large items that the city won’t take from you, you may need to hire a junk removal service.
Junk removal services are not be as picky about the items they’re collecting so if the city won’t take the item, this may be your best bet. There’s usually a fee involved with junk removal but most companies can tell you ahead of time approximately what it’s going to cost.
