Acceptable Items for Bulk Pickup
- Examples of acceptable items include: book cases, cabinets, chairs, dressers, dishwashers, sofas, tables, treadmills, washers and dryers, small rolls of carpet.
- The City of Manassas accepts glass as scheduled bulk waste.All glass that is scheduled for collection must be packed in cardboard, sealed closed with tape, and labeled “GLASS”. Unpacked or loose glass will not be collected.
- There is a limit of three (3) items per household per scheduled pickup.
Unacceptable Items for Bulk Pickup
Examples of unacceptable items include: ammunition, antifreeze, auto parts, cement/stone/pavers/brick, chemicals, dirt/sod/sand, TVs/computers, mowers, tires, fallen tree limbs/stumps, large amounts of construction debris (all nails must be removed prior to pickup).

If you have large items that the city won’t take from you, you may need to hire a junk removal service.
Junk removal services are not be as picky about the items they’re collecting so if the city won’t take the item, this may be your best bet. There’s usually a fee involved with junk removal but most companies can tell you ahead of time approximately what it’s going to cost.
