There will be no garbage collection on the holiday. All trash drop-off sites and the Parish landfill will be closed.
There is no makeup day for the missed collection; garbage will not be picked up until your next scheduled collection day.

Bulk Waste Pickup Calendar 2024
Bulk waste, white goods, and tires are collected once per week. Click here to find your bulk item pickup schedule.
Bulky Waste:Â Items can be no longer than 6 ft. in length and/or 400 pounds. Smaller pieces of concrete or shingles must be containerized. Automobile engines must be drained of fluids.
White goods:Â Are collected once per week from residential units only (limit 4 per address per week).
Tires:Â Are collected once per week from residential units only. (limit 4 tires per address per week).
Acceptable Items for Bulk Pickup
- Furniture
- Tree debris
- other items that will not fit in the cart are collected once per week from residential units only
- Refrigerators
- Ranges
- Water heaters
- Freezers
- Washers
- any other similar large domestic appliance
- Automotive and small truck tires are collected once per week from residential units only. (limit 4 tires per address per week).
Unacceptable Items for Bulk Pickup
- Hazardous waste
- Batteries
- Electronics
Have bulky items the city won’t pick up? You need a junk removal service.
If you have large items that the city won’t take from you, you may need to hire a junk removal service.
Junk removal services are not be as picky about the items they’re collecting so if the city won’t take the item, this may be your best bet. There’s usually a fee involved with junk removal but most companies can tell you ahead of time approximately what it’s going to cost.
