Trash Pick Up Holidays
Here you can see the city-observed holidays.
There will be normal solid waste and recycling collection on holidays for Texas Disposal Systems customers in the City of Georgetown, with the exception of the following holidays. There is no solid waste or recycling pickup on these days:
- Thanksgiving Day
For customers with pickup days on or after these holidays, solid waste pickup will slide one day for the remainder of that week.
Solid waste and recycling collection carts should be placed at the curb by 7 a.m. on pickup day. For questions about solid waste collection, call Texas Disposal Systems at (512) 930-1715.
The Collection Station at 250 W.L. Walden Drive is closed on Jan. 1, Nov. 24, and closing at noon on Dec. 24.

Acceptable Items for Bulk Pickup
Furniture, mattresses, toilets, refrigerators, and washers/dryers.
Unacceptable Items for Bulk Pickup
Tires, vehicle batteries, televisions, hazardous materials, and construction waste such as bathtubs, cabinetry or sheet rock.
Have bulky items the city won’t pick up? You need a junk removal service.
If you have large items that the city won’t take from you, you may need to hire a junk removal service.
Junk removal services are not be as picky about the items they’re collecting so if the city won’t take the item, this may be your best bet. There’s usually a fee involved with junk removal but most companies can tell you ahead of time approximately what it’s going to cost.
