Have bulky items the city won’t pick up? You need a junk removal service.

If you have large items that the city won’t take from you, you may need to hire a junk removal service.

Junk removal services are not be as picky about the items they’re collecting so if the city won’t take the item, this may be your best bet. There’s usually a fee involved with junk removal but most companies can tell you ahead of time approximately what it’s going to cost.

There are a number of junk removal services in Columbia and I’m sure many of them will be able to help you out.

Recycling Collection Calendar 2024

Due to ongoing staff shortages within the Solid Waste Utility, the City of Columbia has temporarily suspended the collection of all residential curbside recycling. The Utility will monitor and evaluate staffing levels in order to restore this service as soon as staffing levels allow.

The City’s priority is the health and sanitation of our community. Therefore, the collection of refuse must take priority over the collection of recyclable materials.

We realize the suspension of curbside recycling will be an inconvenience for many of our residents. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. The City of Columbia appreciates the citizens’ patience as we work to restore this service for our customers.

All material to be collected curbside must be in a trash bag. Crews will not pick up blue recycling bags. Customers who do not want their recyclable materials to go to the landfill may take recyclable materials to one of the nine recycling drop-off sites the City has available.

You also can download the CoMo Recycle and Trash app for updates and notifications.
