Acceptable Items for Bulk Pickup
- Broken furniture
- Household appliances
- Lawnmowers (oil & gas removed)
- Mattresses & box springs
- Outdoor grills
- Refrigerators/freezers/AC units (must be certified refrigerant free by certified professional and certification tag attached to appliance to be eligible for bulk pickup)
- Televisions
- Toys (must label “bulk trash”)
- Washing machines & dryers
- Water heaters
- Yard tools (must label “bulk trash”)
Unacceptable Items for Bulk Pickup
Items weighing more than 150 pounds will not be collected.
- Car parts
- Construction or demolition waste
- Dead animals over 10 pounds
- Excess household trash (boxes or bags)
- Fence materials
- Household Hazardous Waste (see HHW collection)
- Remodeling materials
- Rugs or carpeting over 6 feet in any dimension
- Tree limbs or trunks
- Yard trimmings
Have bulky items the city won’t pick up? You need a junk removal service.
If you have large items that the city won’t take from you, you may need to hire a junk removal service.
Junk removal services are not be as picky about the items they’re collecting so if the city won’t take the item, this may be your best bet. There’s usually a fee involved with junk removal but most companies can tell you ahead of time approximately what it’s going to cost.
