Bulk Waste Pickup Calendar 2024
Bulk pickup must be scheduled with the city.
You can schedule an appointment online or call 913-971-9311.
Requests must be made before 4 p.m. on the business day (Monday – Friday) before your scheduled trash and recycling collection day or your request will be pushed to the following week.
Bulky item pickup will happen on the same day as your scheduled trash day.
Olathe’s Residential Fees for Bulk Pickup
Household items, construction debris or brush pick-up is $20 per 15 minutes of loading time with a $20 minimum.
In addition to the $20 minimum loading fee, additional fees may be charged.
- Automobile tires are $5 per tire with a $10 minimum.
- Semi-truck tires are $10 each.
- Refrigerated appliance (refrigerators, freezers, and air conditioners) pick-up is $30 per appliance.
- Pick-ups scheduled outside the regular scheduled trash collection day will be charged an additional flat rate of $50.
- Additional fees may apply for yard waste (brush or limbs) over 20 cubic yards to account for travel time to the Composting Facility between loads.
Have bulky items the city won’t pick up? You need a junk removal service.
If you have large items that the city won’t take from you, you may need to hire a junk removal service.
Junk removal services are not be as picky about the items they’re collecting so if the city won’t take the item, this may be your best bet. There’s usually a fee involved with junk removal but most companies can tell you ahead of time approximately what it’s going to cost.
