Acceptable Items for Bulk Pickup

Large items (such as couches, dressers, chairs, mattresses, box springs, tables, etc.) must have a $10 large item tag attached in order to be collected (available at City Hall, Metro, Superstore, Canadian Tire, Home Hardware, Gord Watts Municipal Centre, Local Convenience Store downtown, or Quickie convenience stores in Brockville). Please write your address on the tag. There may be a delay between your regular waste and your large item being collected, but it will all be done on your collection day.

  • Construction debris
  • Hazardous waste

Appliances are not collected curbside (they can be brought to Waste Management at 1380 California Ave- fees apply for refrigeration appliances). If the items you’re disposing of are in good condition and can be reused, please consider donation as a first option.

Have bulky items the city won’t pick up? You need a junk removal service.

If you have large items that the city won’t take from you, you may need to hire a junk removal service.

Junk removal services are not be as picky about the items they’re collecting so if the city won’t take the item, this may be your best bet. There’s usually a fee involved with junk removal but most companies can tell you ahead of time approximately what it’s going to cost.

There are a number of junk removal services in Brockville and I’m sure many of them will be able to help you out.
