If a holiday falls on a Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday, there is no collection on the holiday and collection is delayed one day for the remainder of the week. Holidays for 2023 without trash or recycling collection are:

  • Memorial Day – Monday, May 29 (All collections delayed one day)
  • Independence Day – Tuesday, July 4 (Monday on schedule, the rest of the week delayed one day)
  • Labor Day – Monday, September 4 (All collections delayed one day)
  • Thanksgiving Day– Thursday, November 23 (Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday on schedule, Thursday delayed one day)
  • Christmas Day – Monday, December 25 (All collections delayed one day)
  • New Year’s Day – Monday, January 1, 2024 (All collections delayed one day)

Collection normally scheduled for these days will occur on the following weekday, collection will be delayed for all households by one day for the remainder of the week.

Bulk item collections are scheduled twice a month – 2nd and 4th Fridays of each month. You may schedule by email or by calling 515-278-3950. You must schedule at least one day in advance of the pick up date requested.
