Should the normal scheduled collection day fall on Christmas Day or Martin Luther King Jr. Day, garbage collection will be performed on the next scheduled pickup day in your area.

Bulk Waste Pickup Calendar 2024
The City of Miami Solid Waste Department provides residential bulky trash collection once per week.
All items must be securely tied in bundles, no more than three (3) ft. in length nor weighing more than fifty (50) lbs, and placed in front of the resident’s property the evening prior to the scheduled collection day.
Yard trash must be separated from garbage and recyclables and should not be placed in the (blue) recycling bins.
Should the normal scheduled collection day fall on the Christmas or Martin Luther King holiday, bulky trash collection will be performed on the next scheduled pickup day in your area (i.e. holiday falls on Monday, trash will be collected on the next scheduled Monday pickup).

If you have large items that the city won’t take from you, you may need to hire a junk removal service.

Junk removal services are not be as picky about the items they’re collecting so if the city won’t take the item, this may be your best bet. There’s usually a fee involved with junk removal but most companies can tell you ahead of time approximately what it’s going to cost.
