Special collection services for junk items, appliances, furniture, yard waste, trash, and limbs are provided Monday – Friday. Â
Fill out an online work order to have your items picked up. If you have problems with the forms you may call Solid Waste at 936-633-0281.
***Please allow up to ten business days for collection once the work order has been placed.***
City of Lufkin residents are allowed unlimited “small pickup orders.” Residents are also allowed one free large pickup per year. All additional large pickups will be $55.

Have bulky items the city won’t pick up? You need a junk removal service.
If you have large items that the city won’t take from you, you may need to hire a junk removal service.
Junk removal services are not be as picky about the items they’re collecting so if the city won’t take the item, this may be your best bet. There’s usually a fee involved with junk removal but most companies can tell you ahead of time approximately what it’s going to cost.

What time does trash collection start?
Trash collection starts at 7 a.m. Make sure to have your bins on the curb by then.
- Bags placed outside of or on top of containers will not be collected.
- The container should be placed at least three feet away from any other object, including vehicles, mailboxes, and utility poles.
- Containers should be placed on the street side of the curb, with handles pointing toward the customer’s house or property.
- Where there is no curb available, the container should be placed on the roadside of the ditch, and not more than three feet away from the edge of the roadway. Containers should not be placed in ditch lines.
