Our teams try to accommodate oversized items within the same week we are notified. Contact Rumpke (419) 224-3636 at least 48 hours before your regularly scheduled collection to request large item pickup for acceptable large items, and/or excessive amounts of trash. For even larger bulk trash pickups, scheduling an appointment with our junk hauling service, Haul-It-Away, for an additional fee may be necessary.

- sofas
- large furniture items
- upholstered items including sofas and mattresses must be wrapped in a sealable plastic
- appliances containing Freon require special handling. Freon removal is required prior to pick-up.
Unacceptable Items for Bulk Pickup
- drywall
- concrete
- bricks
- rocks
- drums or barrels
- motor oil or cooking oil
- batteries
- tires
- liquids
- combustible materials
Have bulky items the city won’t pick up? You need a junk removal service.
If you have large items that the city won’t take from you, you may need to hire a junk removal service.
Junk removal services are not be as picky about the items they’re collecting so if the city won’t take the item, this may be your best bet. There’s usually a fee involved with junk removal but most companies can tell you ahead of time approximately what it’s going to cost.

What time does trash collection start?
Trash/recycling must be placed curbside the night before your scheduled collection. Drivers may not return to residences if materials are unprepared at the scheduled collection time.
When placing your trash at the curb, your cans and bags should not exceed 50 pounds, and any overly large recycling boxes should be broken down and bundled for easy disposal.
