Trash Pick Up Holidays
Here you can see the city-observed holidays.
Collection of garbage, recycling, bulky items, white goods, and e-waste occurs on all holidays EXCEPT Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. For those two holidays, collection will occur on a one-day delay for the remainder of the week to include a Saturday pick-up.
Yard waste, limbs, and loose leaves are collected by City crews. There will not be any yard waste, limb, or loose leaf collection on any of the following holidays observed by the City:
- New Year’s Day (January 2, 2023)
- Martin Luther King Jr. Day (January 16, 2023)
- Good Friday (April 7, 2023)
- Memorial Day (May 29, 2023)
- Independence Day (July 4, 2023)
- Labor Day (September 4, 2023)
- Veterans Day (November 10, 2023)
- Thanksgiving Holiday (November 23 and 24, 2023)
- Christmas (December 22, 25, and 26, 2023)

Acceptable Items for Bulk Pickup
- Five yard limit in size
- White Goods– major household electronic appliances such as refrigerators, washing machines, clothes dryers, air conditioners, water heaters, ovens and stoves
- E-Waste– electronics such as computers and televisions
Unacceptable Items for Bulk Pickup
Hazardous waste, dead animals and medications.
Have bulky items the city won’t pick up? You need a junk removal service.
If you have large items that the city won’t take from you, you may need to hire a junk removal service.
Junk removal services are not be as picky about the items they’re collecting so if the city won’t take the item, this may be your best bet. There’s usually a fee involved with junk removal but most companies can tell you ahead of time approximately what it’s going to cost.
