Trash Pick Up Holidays
Here you can see the city-observed holidays.
- New Year’s Day will be observed on Monday, January 2, 2024, and we will be closed. All weekday collections will be delayed by one business day that week. Saturday, January 7 will not be affected.
- GLENDALE ONLY – Martin Luther King, Jr. Day is on Monday, January 16, and we will not service on that day. All weekday collections will be delayed by one business day that week. Saturday, January 21 will not be affected.
- Memorial Day is on Monday, May 29, and we will be closed. All weekday collections will be delayed by one business day that week. Saturday, June 3 will not be affected.
- Independence Day is on Tuesday, July 4, and we will be closed. All weekday collections will be delayed by one business day that week. Saturday, July 8 will not be affected.
- Labor Day is on Monday, September 4, and we will be closed. All weekday collections will be delayed by one business day that week. Saturday, September 9, will not be affected.
- Thanksgiving is on Thursday, November 23, and we will be closed. All weekday collections will be delayed by one business day for the rest of the week. Saturday, November 25, will not be affected.
- Christmas is on Monday, December 25, and we will be closed. All weekday collections will be delayed by one business day for the rest of the week. Saturday, December 30, will not be affected.
*If the holiday falls on a weekday, collection is delayed by one day for the rest of that week.

Acceptable Items for Bulk Pickup
- furniture
- appliances
- wood waste
- large yard waste
- clothing
- electronic waste and universal waste (stereos, televisions, computers and monitors, cell phones, microwaves and other similar products).
Unacceptable Items for Bulk Pickup
- car bodies
- construction and demolition waste (with the exception of appliances)
- chemicals, paint, or any hazardous material.
Have bulky items the city won’t pick up? You need a junk removal service.
If you have large items that the city won’t take from you, you may need to hire a junk removal service.
Junk removal services are not be as picky about the items they’re collecting so if the city won’t take the item, this may be your best bet. There’s usually a fee involved with junk removal but most companies can tell you ahead of time approximately what it’s going to cost.
