Trash Pick Up Holidays

Here you can see the city-observed holidays.

  • Thanksgiving Day
  • Christmas Day, December 25
  • New Year’s Day, January 1

​Collection will be delayed by one day following the holidays listed above, for the remainder of that week. The collection schedule will not be affected by holidays that fall on a weekend.

Garbage and recycling collection occurs on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve when those days fall on non-weekends.

Acceptable Items for Bulk Pickup

  • Sofas, couches, chairs, desks, tables, bed frames, bookshelves, large children’s toys and equipment, and other similar items
  • Doors and cabinets
  • Filing cabinets, scrap metal, pipes, shelving units, and similar items

Unacceptable Items for Bulk Pickup

  • Loose, small items are not permitted unless bagged or boxed.
  • No amount of dirt, sod, rocks, concrete, or asphalt is permitted.
  • Tree stumps or trees over 12 inches in diameter are not permitted.
  • Loose green waste such as leaves and grass that can wash down the storm drains 
  • Construction material 
  • Broken glass items and debris
  • Household Hazardous Waste

Have bulky items the city won’t pick up? You need a junk removal service.

If you have large items that the city won’t take from you, you may need to hire a junk removal service.

Junk removal services are not be as picky about the items they’re collecting so if the city won’t take the item, this may be your best bet. There’s usually a fee involved with junk removal but most companies can tell you ahead of time approximately what it’s going to cost.
