If your collection falls on or after the holiday during the collection week, your pick-up day will shift to the following day, excluding Sundays. (If New Year’s Day falls on Monday, those normally collected on Monday will be collected on Tuesday; Tuesday customers will be collected on Wednesday; Wednesday customers will be collected on Thursday; Thursday customers will be collected on Friday, and Friday customers will be collected on Saturday.)

Bulky items can be scheduled for a special pickup for a fee. Call Republic Services at 206-777-6440 for a quote and to schedule.
No single item may weigh more than 50 pounds or be longer than 4 feet. Bags cannot weigh more than 50 pounds.

Unacceptable Items for Bulk Pickup
- No large car parts (tires, transmission blocks, engines, etc.)
- No rocks, dirt or concrete and no tree stumps or large tree trunks.
- Pacific Topsoils accepts dirt, sod, and rock which are NOT collected in your gray organics cart.
- No hazardous waste including paint, car batteries, solvents, pesticides and cleaners.
Have bulky items the city won’t pick up? You need a junk removal service.
If you have large items that the city won’t take from you, you may need to hire a junk removal service.
Junk removal services are not be as picky about the items they’re collecting so if the city won’t take the item, this may be your best bet. There’s usually a fee involved with junk removal but most companies can tell you ahead of time approximately what it’s going to cost.

What time does trash collection start?
Trash collection starts at 7 a.m. Make sure to have your bins on the curb by then.
Do not block cars, mailboxes, sidewalks, or roadways. Carts must be 2 feet apart and at least 3 feet from cars, bushes, mailboxes, etc. with at least 14 feet of overhead clearance. Set carts out with the handle towards the house.
