Acceptable Items for Bulk Pickup
(Maximum of 6 cubic yards per pick-up / One cubic yard is the size of a washing machine.)
- Brush:Â Tree branches, palm fronds and shrubbery, cut to a maximum of four feet in length. Material must be piled neatly.Â
- Household Items: Furniture: Box springs, mattresses, sofas, carpeting, patio furniture, metal, or barbecue grill (no propane tanks). Dishwasher, washer, dryer, stove, water heater, refrigerator (door must be removed) and air conditioners (Freon must be removed).
- Loose materials:Â Flower pots, old garbage cans, solid containers.
Unacceptable Items for Bulk Pickup
- Any liquids (fuel, paint, oil, etc.)
- Automotive/boat components (tires, engines…)
- Explosives
- Hazardous waste
- Radioactive material
- Roofing materials
- Construction/demolition debris (concrete, tile, drywall, toilet, sink…)Â

If you have large items that the city won’t take from you, you may need to hire a junk removal service.
Junk removal services are not be as picky about the items they’re collecting so if the city won’t take the item, this may be your best bet. There’s usually a fee involved with junk removal but most companies can tell you ahead of time approximately what it’s going to cost.

Trash collection starts at 7 a.m. Make sure to have your bins on the curb by then.
