Acceptable Items for Bulk Pickup
- One bulk item per week will be allowed for pick-up at no additional charge.
- Weighing no more that 50 lbs. or more than 5 feet
- All bulk items must be at a weight that is manageable for one person to lift (not drag)
(ie: couch, small tables, mattress, etc.)
Unacceptable Items for Bulk Pickup
- Items longer than five feet in length
- Items weighing more than 50 pounds
- Yard waste
- Household refuse
- Rocks, concrete and construction materials including roofing materials and lumber
- Large appliances such as freezers, refrigerators, stoves, washing machines, dryers, etc. even if broken up, cut up, crushed or flattened
- Any items that could be recycled as noted previously
- Any type of metal post, pipe, swing set, antenna, etc.
- Electronic waste, or e-waste such as computer equipment, televisions, etc.
Have bulky items the city won’t pick up? You need a junk removal service.
If you have large items that the city won’t take from you, you may need to hire a junk removal service.
Junk removal services are not be as picky about the items they’re collecting so if the city won’t take the item, this may be your best bet. There’s usually a fee involved with junk removal but most companies can tell you ahead of time approximately what it’s going to cost.
