You may set out large bulky items on your regular scheduled service day for collection. Please place large bulky items out separate from other products for collection.
Please remove the doors and racks from refrigerators and freezers prior to setting out for collection. Also, it is GFL’s responsibility to make sure Freon is extracted according to current environmental standards.

Unacceptable Items for Bulk Pickup
- Items containing fuels such as Lawn mowers, propane tanks
- Household chemicals
- Pool chemicals
- Oil, anti-freeze, automotive filters
- Batteries, small or large
- Cooking oils
- Paint
Have bulky items the city won’t pick up? You need a junk removal service.
If you have large items that the city won’t take from you, you may need to hire a junk removal service.
Junk removal services are not be as picky about the items they’re collecting so if the city won’t take the item, this may be your best bet. There’s usually a fee involved with junk removal but most companies can tell you ahead of time approximately what it’s going to cost.

What time does trash collection start?
Trash collection starts at 7 a.m. Make sure to have your bins on the curb by then.
Please place the cart at least 4 feet from any tree, pole, fire hydrant, etc. and at least 10 feet away from any cars parked in the street so the automated arm can reach your cart.
